The open curriculum is no more than a menu of GBSs that all pertain to the same domain. Children might select a domain (and hence a curriculum) on the basis of their usual interests. Adults might select a domain on the basis of the goal they have going back to school. The key point is that curricula ought to correspond to the interests students have. Such a curricula allows us to capitalize on the notion that "an interest is a terrible thing to waste" while observing the caution that "students must control their own learning."
